Our commitment

The Reflection Hub is committed to making this platform accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

What we have done

  • All pages include a skip navigation link to bypass repeated content
  • Focus is always visible — interactive elements have a clear 2px teal outline when focused
  • Colour contrast meets WCAG AA requirements throughout
  • All images and icons have descriptive alt text or are marked as decorative
  • Form inputs are linked to descriptive labels
  • Error messages are announced to screen readers using live regions
  • The site is navigable using a keyboard alone
  • Tap targets on mobile are at least 44×44 pixels
  • Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
  • No content flashes or auto-plays in a way that could cause harm

Known limitations

We are a small free-to-use platform and we are continuously improving. Some known areas we are working on:

  • Rich text in journal entries may have limited screen reader formatting support
  • Module section navigation does not yet support arrow-key roving focus

Technical information

This platform has been built with semantic HTML5, WAI-ARIA where needed, and is tested with keyboard navigation and VoiceOver/NVDA screen readers. It uses a responsive layout that works on screens of all sizes.
